CHS REUNION PICNIC (1934-1963)


PICNIC DETAILS - 2009





The Clairton High School Class of 1960 has scheduled a picnic at Clairton Park Lodge/Pavillion on Saturday, September 5, 2009. Please note that this date is THE FIRST SATURDAY OF SEPTEMBER! Please check back from time to time to see updates of the information.





SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 5, 2009

Picnic: A picnic for Clairton High School alumni from classes 1934 through 1963 on Saturday, September 5, 2009, at the Clairton Park Lodge and adjoining pavilion.

Cost: The picnic in 2009 will be $10 per person. This cost was established after negotiation with the caterer (for 2009 rates). For those who have asked, our caterer is: D&D Foods, Inc., 214 Mikula Road, Arnold City, Belle Vernon, PA 15012, Phone: 724-929-7565.

Starting Time: Gather at 11:00 a.m. Catered lunch will be served about 12:30 p.m.

Meal: Hot sausage (with buns), rotisserie chicken, halushki, parsley potatoes, meat & cheese tray, relish trays, hot green beans, cold green bean salad, tossed garden salad, linguini salad.

Meal Notes: Please note that there are SIX (6) lines inside the Lodge for the food. All six lines are serving the SAME food. Please help us in moving the crowd along by utilizing all six lines. Also, faculty and handicapped will be served first. If you have a handicap, please see Judie and Anna Marie (who will be collecting meal tickets) and they will allow you to enter the Lodge immediately. Also, if you need assistance in getting your meal, please see any one of the Committee and we will make sure that you receive some help.

Dessert: Optional: Please bring a dessert to share. We always enjoy the display of desserts brought by everyone. It is one of the highlights of our picnic. Your contribution adds to the enjoyment of the day and we appreciate anything you can bring. If at all possible, can you please cut your dessert into small individual servings to assist those at the dessert table in getting the desserts set out quickly.

Beverages: Please bring your own drinks. If you would like coffee, please bring it with you. We will NOT be providing coffee with the meal.

Lawn Chair: You may bring a lawn chair to enjoy the fun.

Share the Wealth: There will be a "Share the Wealth" raffle. You could be the lucky winner!!!!

Camera: Don't forget to bring your camera to capture the wonderful moments of the day. After the picnic, Anna Marie will be posting pictures that you provide to this website. The preference is for a CD/DVD or some electronic transmission of the pictures, but hard copies can be put on the website also. Check with Anna Marie at the picnic on where to send your pictures. Share the fun with everyone!

Donations: Your generosity is always appreciated. Donations are being accepted.

NEXT YEAR: The date for next year's picnic will be Saturday, September 4, 2010. Remember, future picnics will be held on the first Saturday in September. Check back with this website for information on next year's picnic as it becomes available.

Sponsorship: The Class of 1954 will be sponsoring the picnic for 2010, and there is a chance that the Class of 1960 will continue as a co-sponsor. This detail will be resolved by the end of the year (2010).


PICNIC RESERVATIONS - 2009: Reservations will START to be taken March 1, 2009. Registration and payment of $10 per person are due no later than August 1, 2009. Please see the Picnic Registration Form on this site. That is a form you can print, fill in and mail along with your check to Adele Henning Kunz. Checks should be made out to "CHS Reunion Picnic". Facilities at Clairton Park and caterer restrictions can accommodate a limited number of people. IMPORTANT: PICNIC ATTENDANCE IS LIMITED ON A FIRST COME/FIRST SERVED PAID RESERVATION BASIS.
